The Ministry Of The Holy Spirit

THE HOLY SPIRIT

Introduction:

The ministry of the Holy Spirit, often referred to as the "Holy Ghost". It encompasses the active and transformative work of the third person of the Holy Trinity within the lives of believers. Throughout the history of Christianity, the ministry of the Holy Spirit has been a source of spiritual guidance, empowerment, and renewal for individuals and the Church as a whole. In this exploration, we will delve into the multifaceted ministry of the Holy Spirit and its vital role in the life of every believer

Man was created to be dependent. The Holy Spirit is the extension of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave us his Spirit to be an extension and represent himself on earth.

Holy Spirit came to modify and amplifier what Jesus could not do in his limited time on earth. The life of Jesus is a blueprint for every christian to live his life.

Note!!

"The Holy Spirit is not a thing nor a force but a person."

FOUR THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. His person

The Holy Spirit is a person so we relate to him as a being. He has feelings, mind and will and these are the qualification for a creation to be a being and He possess all three faculties Romans 8:1 and Corinthians 12

2. His power.

He comes with His influencing power. His power comes in two ways.

  • Internal power, which constitutes His work of transformation in you.
  • External power is the demonstration into the life of others, through you. It includes healing, signs and wonders, miracles etc.

3. His presence

We need to learn how to host God's presence. His presence can be quantified.

4. His purpose

The ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit works in us by peeling away our sinful characteristics and replacing them with godly characteristics. His work in us makes us more and more like Jesus. Just as Acts 1:8 mentions, the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ

THREE MAJOR TRION WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

1. Regeneration (Faith)

The born again experience. He's responsible for making believers. We see in Titus 3:5, Genesis 1:1-2, 2 Timothy 1:9 and John 3:3 just to list a few.

2. Transformation (Yieldedness,Obedience and Love)

The Holy Spirit animates the word of God and power of God which causes change in the life of a believer. We see in 2 Corinthians 3:18, 2 Corinthians 4:4(without Christ) and Romans 12:2

3. Transfiguration (Hope)

The mortal Body is cloaked upon with immortality. There's degree of glory upon resurrection.

This simply means, the Holy Spirit continues to remind us of our hope and the change of our mortal bodies into an immortal one which is full of glory

THE TRION OFFENCES OF THE SPIRIT

1. Grieving the Holy Spirit affects his person. Ephesians 4:30, John 14:16.

2. You can quench the Spirit which affects his work through you to become a blessing to others.                                                               1 Thessalonians 5:19&20

3. You can resist the Holy Spirit by stopping his work in you.   Acts 7:51

THE WORKS OF THE SPIRIT

2. The Holy Spirit enables us to commune with God. 2 Corinthians 13:14,1 Corinthians 12:2
